The final list of papers is subject to the authors’ registration and confirmation to attend the symposium. Conference Program will be released accordingly.
To appreciate the important contributions of authors towards this Symposium and with the strong support from sponsors for the Symposium, the presenting author of each paper will be entitled to a special presenting author registration fee of S$500 (about US$350) if the presenting author registers by 30 September 2009.

Registration fee for the Site Visit is waived for all authors and full paying standard delegates. However pre-registration for participation is required.
As there are limited seats, authors and full paying standard delegates will be given the priority to register. Please register with the secretariat counter on 9 December 2009, 10.00am to 5.00pm.
Registration fee for student delegates (non-authors), accompanying persons and spouses will be levied at S$30. Please register with the secretariat counter only on the 10 December 2009, 9.00am to 12.00 noon. Registration is subject to availability.

Dear Authors
Before you submit your full papers, please ensure these meet the following criteria:
- Contents must be relevant to ground improvement with reasonable technical standards and no technical errors.
- Contents must be original and substantial part of the paper should not be published
elsewhere.
- Title of not more than 80 characters should reflect main contribution and idea of paper.
Title should not start with an article e.g. “The”, “A” etc.
- English used must be of reasonable standard. Non-English writers are advised to
seek help.
- Layout, presentation, figures and tables must follow the instructions given in the
attached template (WORD or LATEX format). They must be logical and clear; all
reference quoted must be listed.
- Paper must be of a non-commercial nature.

I wish to take this opportunity to inform you that there will be best paper award(s) given
at the Symposium. In addition, the publisher will submit the published proceedings for
possible inclusion in the ISI Conference or equivalent index. Authors of selected papers
will be requested to extend their papers for possible inclusion in a special issue of the
International Journal of Ground Improvement published by Thomas Telford. As such, I
encourage all authors to prepare high quality papers for the Symposium.
It is expected at least 1 author of an accepted paper should register for the Symposium
to present the paper. If you have any problems or queries, please do not hesitate to contact
the conference secretariat.
