Assessing Soil & Underground Structures Through Geophysics

Venue : NUS Faculty of Engineering, Seminar Room EA-02-11, 1 Engineering Drive 2, Singapore 117576

Time : 18:30 hrs Registration | 19:00-20:00 hrs Seminar

Geophysics cover a wide range of possibly non-intrusive tools and methods to complement traditional punctual bore hole soil investigation with continuous information, making it relevant in the context of underground works in urban and/or geologically complex environment. Typical aims of geophysical surveys is the investigation about existing underground structures, and the assessment of the ground condition including detection of possible obstruction and voids. Let’s hear about:

  • Use cases for geophysical methods for civil engineering projects in urban context
  • Relevant techniques, their benefits and their limitations
  • Innovative techniques for applied geophysics, feedback from Grand Paris projects
